Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data.
Last updated 14 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Global Structure and Travels Ltd (“we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It covers two mobile applications and the website that supports them:
- Global Services — the customer app, used to book and track deliveries.
- GST Dispatch — the rider app, used by approved GST couriers to carry out deliveries.
We are the data controller for this information. If you have any question about this policy, or want to exercise any of the rights described below, contact us at support@globalservicesapp.com.
1. What we collect
Everyone who uses either app
| Data | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Phone number | It is your account identifier. We send a one-time code by SMS to verify it. Without it you cannot sign in. |
| Name and email address | To identify you on a delivery, and to contact you about it. |
| Device push token | To send you notifications about your delivery. Supplied by our push provider (see section 4). |
| IP address | Recorded automatically by our servers for security, abuse prevention and fraud detection. |
Customers (the Global Services app)
| Data | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Pickup and drop-off addresses, including their map coordinates, plus any landmark or note you add | To price the delivery and tell the rider where to go. Addresses you save are kept in your address book until you delete them. |
| Recipient's name and phone number | So the rider can find and call the person receiving the package. This is somebody else's personal data — see section 3. |
| Your device's location (precise, while you are using the app) | Only to centre the map on you when you set a pickup point. This is optional — if you refuse the permission, the app still works and simply centres the map on Accra. We do not track a customer's location in the background, and we do not store it. |
| Mobile Money phone number and network | To charge you for a completed delivery. We never see, ask for, or store a card number or PIN — the payment is approved on your own phone. |
| Your rating and any comment you leave | To manage rider quality. |
Riders (the GST Dispatch app)
GST Dispatch is a work application for couriers we have approved. Because a rider is carrying somebody else's property and handling money, we necessarily collect more.
| Data | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Location, continuously, including while the app is in the background or closed | This is the core of the service. While you are Online, the app sends your position to us roughly every ten seconds so we can offer you nearby jobs and show the customer where their delivery is. Android shows a permanent notification and iOS shows a status indicator the whole time this is happening. It stops the moment you go Offline, and you choose when to go Online. |
| Identity documents — photographs of your driver's licence, your Ghana Card, and your vehicle | To verify you are licensed to ride and legally entitled to work, before we let you accept a job. This is the most sensitive data we hold and it is deleted with your account (section 7). |
| Proof of delivery — a photograph taken with the camera, a signature, the recipient's name and phone number, and any note | To prove the package reached the right person, and to resolve disputes. |
| Earnings, wallet balance, and payout details (the Mobile Money number and network you withdraw to) | To pay you. |
2. What we do not collect
We want to be precise about this, because it is as important as the list above. Neither app contains advertising, an advertising SDK, or any third-party analytics or tracking software. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we never sell your personal data. We do not collect your contacts, your photo library, your microphone, your health data, or your device's advertising identifier.
3. Personal data about other people
When you book a delivery you give us the recipient's name and phone number. When a rider completes a delivery they record who received the package. That is personal data about somebody who is not our user, and we treat it as such: we use it only to complete that delivery and to prove it happened, and we do not market to it. If you give us somebody else's details, you confirm you are entitled to do so. If you are a recipient and want your details removed, email support@globalservicesapp.com.
4. Who we share data with
We share only what a party needs to do its job, and only with these parties:
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The other side of your delivery | A customer sees the assigned rider's first name, rating, vehicle and live position. A rider sees the pickup and drop-off addresses, and the customer's and recipient's names and phone numbers. | The delivery cannot happen otherwise. |
| OneSignal (push notifications) | A push token identifying your device installation. | To deliver notifications to your phone. |
| Paystack (payments) | The payment amount and the Mobile Money number and network involved. | To take payment from customers and pay riders. Paystack is a licensed payment processor. |
| Hubtel (SMS) | Your phone number and the one-time sign-in code. | To send you the SMS code that signs you in. |
| OpenStreetMap Foundation (maps and address search) | Your IP address, the part of the map you are looking at, and any address text you type into the search box. Not your identity and not your GPS position. | To draw the map and turn a typed address into a location. |
| Anyone you send a tracking link to | The delivery's status and the rider's live position — no account details. | Because you chose to share it. |
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, to a court or a regulator, or where we must do so to investigate fraud or protect somebody's safety.
5. Why we are allowed to use your data
We process this data to perform the contract between us — you cannot be sent a courier without an address, and we cannot pay a rider without their payout details. We process identity documents to meet our legal and safety obligations. We rely on your consent for optional things, principally the customer app's use of your location, which you may refuse or withdraw at any time in your phone's settings without losing access to the app.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account details — until you delete your account.
- Rider location history — retained while it is needed to support and audit a delivery, and deleted with your account.
- Identity documents — for as long as you ride for us, and deleted with your account.
- Delivery and payment records — retained after account deletion, because Ghanaian tax and accounting law requires us to keep records of transactions. When you delete your account we strip your personal data out of these records and keep only the non-personal facts of the transaction, such as the fare, the distance and the date. See section 7.
7. Deleting your account and your data
You can delete your account from inside either app, under Profile → Delete account. You can also request deletion in writing — the account deletion page explains both routes and exactly what is erased and what is kept.
When you delete your account, we permanently erase:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- your saved address book;
- your push notification token, so we can no longer message your phone;
- the notes, rating comments and other free text you wrote;
- for riders: your identity documents and their image files, and your stored location history.
We keep the delivery and payment records themselves, with your personal data removed from them, for the legal reason given in section 6. Your account cannot be recovered afterwards, and you cannot sign in again with the same phone number as the same account.
We cannot complete a deletion while you have a delivery in progress, or while a rider still has an unpaid balance in their wallet. The app will tell you so and let you finish or withdraw first.
8. Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it erased, and to object to how we use it. You may also complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana. To exercise any of these rights, email support@globalservicesapp.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. How we protect your data
All traffic between the apps and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Your sign-in token is held in the secure keystore your phone provides (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android), not in ordinary app storage. Access to personal data inside our organisation is limited to staff who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously and will tell you and the regulator promptly if a breach puts your data at risk.
10. Children
Neither app is intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and if we discover that we have, we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version.
